The pumper on the 4S Lectron (and the FCR) has nothing to do with the needle jet emulsion tube or needle. The Lectron carb (and SmartCarb) use a single needle that covers the standard pilot, needle and main jet circuits. The slight advantage of a single circuit carb like the Lectron is the tendency to transition smoother off of the pilot circuit.

The carbs have been used by a few very high level off road guys in events such as the ISDE as far back as 20 years ago.
